Monday 14th-16th December 2015 @ 7.30pm
Bristol Bierkeller, All Saints Street, BS1 2NA
Tickets £9.50/£7.50 from https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/spptheatreco/
SPP Theatre Company bring a timely and surreal performance of Metamorphosis to the Bierkeller. The tale centres on Gregor Samsa, a work-obsessed, miserable travelling salesman who wakes up one morning to find himself mysteriously transformed into a giant insect-like creature. The rest of the story documents Gregor's attempts to deal with his absurd predicament.
“It is 100 years since Metamorphosis was first published, so it is a tremendous time to perform it. It is one of the most significant works of the 20th century and its darkly surreal story lends itself beautifully to the stage.
The play explores alienation as Gregor becomes more and more distanced from the rest of his family. Berkoff's adaptation is very stylised and quite dark
We have chosen the Bierkeller as the venue as we feel the atmosphere there will greatly enhance the mood of this play.” (Steve, Director).
