A magical, musical extravaganza set to charm the stockings off of everyone aged 7 to 107. The Melody Makers is the new festive production from Tessa Bide, starring four talented actor-musicians, beautiful hand-made puppets and A LOT of live music!

Pip Christmas hates Christmas. Her family love it so much they made it their name. They put the tree up in September and put it away in March and they eat beans all year to save up for the festive indulgence.

Pip’s only saving grace is her best friend, Rupert – a tiny robin who visits her every morning for the month of December. One morning, Rupert stops singing and Pip must go on a quest to find out why the music has stopped! She must find the Melody Makers and, boy, they’re not happy….

The story is told using a combination of puppetry with beautiful hand crafted puppets made by Sarah Dicks (puppetry assistant on The Lion King) and live music and acting from performers Tessa Bide, Matt Huxley, Jean Bono and Megan Brooks.

Children’s theatre specialist Tessa Bide (recently featured on Children’s Theatre Reviews’ ‘List of Twitter Accounts every lover of children’s theatre should be following’) is bringing her new show to The Wardrobe Theatre for two weeks this December. Tessa’s previous shows, The Tap Dancing Mermaid and Arnold’s Big Adventure, have both enjoyed sold-out shows in Bristol when they’ve previously performed at The Wardrobe Theatre, The Bristol Festival of Puppetry and Boiling Wells in St Werburghs.

Shows 7th - 20th Dec.

“the perfect example of a show where the adults are just as enthralled as the kids.” ★★★★
