The Importance of Being Earnest

Wed 17th – Fri 19th Jun 2015

“Steampunk inspired Earnest ”

SPP Theatre Company

"I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train."

Ernest is actually Jack when he's in the country, unless that's when he's Ernest, in which case he's Algernon in town. Gwendoline and Cecily both intend to marry Ernest, but can he be in two places at once? It rather depends on whether he's actually Jack or Algernon. But then if he was either Jack or Algernon then Gwendoline and Cecily probably wouldn't love him anymore. Confused? That's half the fun.

SPP Theatre Company bring a new adaptation of Oscar Wilde's much loved comedy masterpiece to The Island's intimate basement. Join us in this atmospheric setting for an evening of steampunk-styled mistaken identity.
