Forth Children's Theatre

Forth Children’s Theatre celebrates 35 years on the Fringe with

the UK premiere of a new Godspell.

Multi-award winning Edinburgh youth theatre Forth Children's Theatre (FCT) is delighted to present the UK Premiere of a joyous new arrangement of Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) classic musical Godspell. The new arrangement was premiered on Broadway in 2012 and features a remarkable new arrangement by Michael Holland that brings the show bang up to date.

Performed on a thrust stage this vivid and hit-packed show (Day by Day, Prepare ye The Way) illustrates the importance of ‘community’ through a playful take on the Gospel of St Matthew.

Featuring a cast of 34 10-18 year olds FCT’s chorus (ENDA winners in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012) will once again blow the audience away with breath-taking numbers and choreography.

Directed by former cast member, Ronan Radin, and choreographed by another FCT alumni, Katie Renton, the show is both a visual and aural spectacle with leading roles for Gus Harrower (as Jesus) and Ronan Rafferty (Judas).

Said Chairman, Mark Gorman, of the production,” I’m particularly excited about this year’s Fringe because it’s not every year you can mount a UK premier. It’s a work that’s incredibly uplifting musically. Rehearsals have gone really well and we’re anticipating very good houses, given the show’s popularity and the fact that we have a number of attractively priced performances with good discounts available.. We’re so proud of our directing team but also of our new musical directors for 2013 Claire Saunders and Dan Glover.”
