SUMMARY

Doors open 30mins before performance.

Dirty Stop Outs is an evening of six new pieces of writing inspired by the Bierkeller space. This evening of new writing is more than just a random selection of local writers, it is an event. Six writers were selected to write for a specific area of the Bierkeller’s inspiringly dark and debauched club. Each were given a different space up to 20mins and maximum 4 actors. All writers come with their own style but the same theme of one night in the Bierkeller Night Club. Come and see how the writers responded and how the evening unfolds between exploring each area.

///One Last One///

We’ve all either been them or seen them. That one last person at the bar at the end of the night, demanding that one last drink from a tired and fed up bartender who just wants to shut the doors and go home to bed. But there’s always more going on beneath the surface than the drunken squabbles that meet the eye. This is a play about what happens when two people decide to take their greater grudges out on each other.

The stories:

///Dancing to the Moon///

Bridesmaids but never the bride. Who’d want to be one of those anyway, it’s much more fun being the single ladies at the bash, surely. It’s Liberating, stimulating, humiliating. What ever it is, it isn’t to be shared with a misfit hen party bunch.

///Backstage Burlesque///

The diamond in the rough. Even the grimiest of places have their touch of glamour. There has to be some escapism within the escapism. The showgirl takes centre stage and for the first time people are watching.

///Toilets///

Deano, Crofty and Charlie are up to their usual tricks. In and out of the hub of the club, the stinking men’s urinals, where the real drama unfolds. Step into their office where they’ll try their hardest to have the best night making a nightmare of everyone elses.

///Swoop///

Darro plays pool, Maya mourns a glamorous past and Eva spreads her wings. Each of them endures lust, loneliness and lost years. Where are the moments of beauty and joy in a bleak life?

///How to Make an Exit///

Getting out can be tricky, especially if you're under the influence and wearing improbable shoes, or under water and wearing chains and a strait jacket. Part demonstration, part illusion, How To Make An Exit holds your hand as you travel from the place where it's all happening to the place where it's not.
