SUMMARY

‘It is Friday, 31 December 1999, 10.30pm. The fireworks are poised and the birthday candle is lit.

Ancient clown Scaramouche steps down from the stage after his final performance and prepares to bid farewell at the age of 100.

Before he sets off he recounts in anecdotes the story of his life, while tenderly laying down the seven white masks he has worn to face the darkest periods of the turbulent 20th Century.’

“A masterpiece of Magic Realism, impeccably written” British Theatre Guide.

“...mesmerising display of storytelling” The Independent.

Alan Coveney takes on the role of Scaramouche Jones in a magical display of divine and authentic story telling.

Directed by Emel Yilmaz, the winner of the ‘Elsa Roberts Prize’ for Director, 2011. “Emel has inspired concentrated performances from her four young cast-members, to awesome effect...” The Remotegoat.
