St Paul's Players Southville

SUMMARY

In a dystopian city of tomorrow, one man holds society together and keeps the darkness at bay. But he is just one man; and now, he struggles to wear the mantle he has made for himself. The future is in the hands of the young; but does he choose as his successor one who has followed his legacy for years? Or does he embrace the new generation, willing to fight fire with fire, with potentially deadly results?

Dragons is an innovative new production from the St. Paul's Players Southville theatre company. They have been entertaining Bristol's theatre-goers with quality drama for over 50 years. At 7.30pm on Wednesday 25th until Saturday 28th April we will be performing this adaptation of Shakespeare's 'King Lear', written by playwright David Heslop. Our venue? The amazing Coexist events space in the heart of Stokes Croft.

The show is part of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Open Stages 2011/12 season. The RSC, in partnership with a number of regional theatres, is running a national programme of skill sharing events and showcases, and has invited companies from across the UK to produce their own RSC branded Shakespeare themed productions.

St Paul's Players Southville introduces Dragons, the must-see event and first of its kind for the city of Bristol
